FAQ
The workshop language will be English, but everything can be translated into German. The other teachers will have young folks around that can easily translate. If you might not understand an explanation of the teachers, we urge you to ask them for another explanation, since this is the job of these instructors.
Can I join for the evenings only?
Yes, you can.
Where can I find the workshop schedule?

Can I book only one day of the weekend?
Yes, you can. We have 6 units that can be booked separately, 3 units each day.
Which airport should I fly into?
We would recommend to fly into the Dresden Airport (DRS). From there you should take the S2 to get a ride into the city, where you can switch to tram number 8 which takes you to the Hellerau workshop location. If you find much cheaper tickets to Berlin, you can also arrive at e.g. Tegel and take the Linien Bus ride to Dresden. The BerlinLinienBus can take you to Dresden Main Train Station (Hauptbahnhof). You should plan at least 2 hours time between your flight arrival and the bus departure. The same would apply for Prague Airport.
Would I need a car in Dresden?
No,not really cause the public transportation is working just fine, since the workshops and parties are located right at the city center that is the best way to ride.
Are there hotels in the area?
Yes, you might find plenty possibilities for hotels on the accommodation page, or by your individual research. Apparently there won’t be extra sleeping possibilities for visitors that merely join for the parties because all the sleeping spots will be occupied by the people attending the classes.
Will there be auditions for the different levels?
Yes, in order to have concerted classes, each level will run through a 15 minutes warm up, which can be seen as audition. During this warm up dance it may be that a few participants will be asked to change the level.
How do I find someone I can sign up with?
If the registration for Solo-Dancers is closed, you might try to connect with potential participants at our facebook page, at Swing in Berlin, at Berlin-Balboa, or at Swing in Leipzig.
Will there be a bar in the ballroom?
Yes and there will be catering all the time.
Money
You have to pay for the workshops, the evenings and the lunch upfront. At the registration form you can choose to pay via (IBAN, paypal or Cash). After registration you will receive your bill with further instructions.
Die Hauptsprache auf dem Workshop ist Englisch sein. Marcus und Bärbl können jedoch alles zweisprachig erklären, bei den anderen Lehrern werden auch spracherfahrene Teilnehmer vorhanden sein, die bei der Übersetzung helfen können. Wird etwas nicht verstanden, bitten die Lehrer auch darum sofort nachzufragen, das hilft ungemein, den Erklären ist ihr Job.
Kann ich auch nur zu den Swing-Unterhaltungskonzerten kommen?
Ja, das geht.

Kann ich auch nur einen Tag am Workshop teilnehmen?
Ja das geht, du kannst dir sechs Einheiten zusammenstellen, drei Einheiten ergeben einen Tag.
Welchen Flughafen sollte ich nehmen?
Wir empfehlen ohne Umscheife den Dresdner Flughafen (DRS). Wenn es bedeutend billiger wäre in Berlin Tegel, Leipzig oder Prag zu landen. Benötige ich ein Auto in Dresden?
Es ist natürlich bequemer und schneller, aber ein Auto wird nicht dringend benötigt, da der ÖPNV in Dresden sehr komfortabel ausgebaut ist.
Gibt es Hotels in der Nähe?
Ja, es gibt unzählige Hotels in direkter Nähe zu Helleraus, sowie etwas zentraler in Dresdens Neuststadt. Bitte schaue dir unsere ausgewählten Beispiele auf der Webseite für Unterkünfte an, oder recherchiere individuell. Für Gäste die nur zur Party kommen und nicht am WS teilnehmen, können aller Wahrscheinlichkeit nach keine Möglichkeiten aus dem Kontingent der Schlafgelegenheiten von Dresdner Tänzern zur Übernachtung bereitgestellt werden.
Werden for dem Workshop Auditions für die einzelnen Level stattfinden?
Ja, es wird im ersten Kurs deines Levels eine Erwärmung geben, welche unter anderem aus einem Tanz zum Begutachten eurer Fähigkeiten besteht, hier wird in den ersten 15 Minuten notfalls ein wenig umstrukturiert, sodass die Levels möglichst ausgeglichen sind. Es kann also vorkommen, dass einige Teilnehmer gebeten werden in ein anderes Level zu wechseln.
Wie kann ich jemand finden der sich mit mir anmeldet?
Sollte die Anmeldung für Solo-Teilnehmer geschlossen sein, könntet ihr bspw. versuchen auf unserer facebook Seite, Swing in Berlin, Berlin-Balboa, oder bei Swing in Leipzig Kontakte zu knüpfen.
Wird es eine Bar im Ballsaal geben?
Ja, es wird die ganze Zeit Catering geben.
Bezahlung
Du musst für die Konzerte, den Workshop und die Verpflegung im Vorfeld bezahlen. Während der Anmeldung kannst du den Zahlungsmodus auswählen (IBAN, paypal, Bar). Nach der Anmeldung erhälst du weitere Informationen.
